The wheels DO have to go....what do you guys think about these in black, not red, with wide whites? I cant really picture the van with it. Thoughts?

Rims are fine, but I am not a fan of wide whites on 60's cars........or vans. That's just me though.

Got one that is just a few years to new for here. Drove it for a while and lost interest, now it makes a decent storage bin. TopHat

I've got the supervan with the popup camper top that I put in the classifieds but I didn't get any bites so I think I'm going to steal the 9 inch rearend, engine tranny, and front axle setup and part out, then crush the rest. It's got lots of good body parts including a new full lower drivers side patch panel. Let me know if that helps anyone out...

Just took this one on a road trip. 400 miles of Interstste 40. It beat me and the wife to death--no air--it was 104 and it was running 215 to 230 all the time. Realized that I had been driving this truck 40 years. It was not a rod then--but a Hippy Pickup, sitting here thinking of a trip to L.A. in 75 in it--I guess I really like these trucks!!!!

My contribution is a 23,000 mile 1975 with two electric moon-roofs, one in front and one in back. Multi Pearl painted by Chuck Miller with three of my Walts Puffers in the murals and striped by Paul Hatton.....:D ''

So lets here the discussion on 14 inch wheels vs. 15 inch wheels. I have looked at a ton of pics, and to be honest, there is not much difference. I was thinking 14's just because I do not want it to be any higher (in fact I want it lower). Any thoughts? Pros or Cons?

  13. yeah Ive been going thru this with another O/T car Im doing and Ive got a stack of 14 inch cragars but tryin to find cool tires is a pain in the ass and its gettin harder as the years go on,hell I doubtin 10 yhears 15s will be around, but Im running 15s on that and my driver truck along with my 56 chevy street freak, and when I get to the van yeah 15s and maybe 16s just so I can find damn tires I like

They came stock with 14, and optional 13" rims. You could run 15s, but with shorter tires and not affect the ride height

Been driving my '63 pretty much daily and I love it. I do want more power, though. That little 170 is a dog! I'm considering putting a FWD setup in the rear. Maybe a V6? That would free up the room between the seats and keep me from cooking my leg on long trips. Should be a fun conversion.

Can someone do me a favour please?

I have my 61 Econoline arriving next week and need to work out if it will fit on my trailer when i go and pick it up from the docks.

It's bog standard on standard wheels, can someone measure the width of the front and rear axle width from the outside of the tyre at the bottom where it bulges out side to side?

    Thanks

    Tim

I thought I already posted on here but it was the other van thread. Here's mine. Me and Matt from Dice started the Vandoleros club just over a month ago and have 10 members already.

I get 73 inches wide . If you have a trailer with fenders or sides on it , can't be higher than 12 inches .

Looking to see what you guys are running for 15in tire sizes (front and back) getting ready to upgrade from steelies to Cragers.

Also, anyone have a pass side window crank laying around?

    Thanks

Not an Econo, but a cool Dodge I saw at the Mooneyes show over the weekend. Check out the button tuck headliner.
