I was walking through vets swap meet on Sunday and noticed a vendor's truck was leaning to one side. It turns out that he had a tire blow out about six miles from the swap meet and he drove his truck there on the rim, part wag on the rim because some where he lost the rim.

I also saw the awesome Seagrave roadster pick-up made from a fire truck. It is powered by a 500 cid Caddy motor. This thing was big and awesome.

Hopefully he was able to find a rim and tire at the swapmeet!
That Seagrave.......I ususally dont dig oddball things like that, but it pretty badass.

  5. It never ceases to amaze me...how some guys just can't resist cheesing shit up. Look at the license frames on the Seagrave

  6. Oh ya ... those are some sweet frames !! The chain just looks so good,I mean it might not be the same if it did not have em.

Looking at the lugnuts on the pickup I'm amazed the wheel didn't just fly off and kill someone. I see that guy at all the swaps and his truck always seems to be filled with useless junk. I think he did the graphics on Rudy's truck "El Cuhio" or something like that.

That Seagrave looks like something I would expect Jay Leno to want to buy.

could be worse at least its not a gold chain :D

  15. +1, This is the guy that painted the original Coahuila hooker Rudy truck, yes the original. And yes mostly he's got mostly crusty, waaay crusty stuff. overpriced.
You'd thick they would have went back to him and paid him a good amount to repaint those hookers on the truck. I mostly overlook him because of the parts he brings.
A spare would be in order or some AAA service.
o'yeah and stacks of porn in the truck.

The strange thing is to there are tons of cops at the show in the squadcars, you'd think it would be some sort of violation running a car like that for more than a few blocks let alone enough to have the rim and tire break off the wheel center.

That Sea Graves is really well done, but yeah I failed to notice the chain license plate frame. Overall a nice truck.

This thread is crazy pointing out the very best and worst of that swap simultaneously.
BTW guys this is mostly a chevy swap- with less non-automotive chatch.

..and who's wearing sock with their sandals!!

So how far would you have to drive to wear it right down to the drum?

That phantom Seagrave "roadster pick-up" is wild! If
it were mine (dreaming again! - LOL) I'd probably power it
    with an International DT466 or DT570 6-cylinder turbo-diesel,
hooked to an Allison 5, 6 or 7 speed automatic. Or maybe - if
cost, actual practicality and fuel mileage weren't too important
    - hot-rod an original 900-plus cube Seagrave V12 for it! But a
500 inch Caddy for power is cool too! :)

That Seagrave is pretty nicely done, can't imagine the designer/ builder would put those cheezy frames on it...every thng else is so well done. Maybe they were a gift, and he didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings..:)

Damn, looked nice and cool and overcast over there. at least for the first part of the day, right? Went to a swap over here yesterday, and was driving home at 9:30 in the morning and it was 105 degrees! Kinda hard to remember what cool feels like, ya know?

I don't know him but he seems like a determined s.o.b.
Spare? First you need a jack! Maybe they're both under the pile.

  23. Got pulled over once for being too low. The cop let me go with a warning but told me that if my car damaged the roadway I could be billed by Cal Trans at a rate of $3,800.00 per FOOT! And that was in about 1985, I'm sure it's a lot more now! Maybe the dumb ass needs to think about that, since having control of his vehicle didn't seem to be important.

  24. I can't believe he was allowed on the swap meets property, the damage to the asphalt on the stadiums property could cause Topping or whoever to be liable for repairs or possibly void the contract for the swap meet events because of damages. jmho

I saw the same junk truck at the Trompers Swap a day before --looks like he didn't sell a thing.

6 miles, crazy! What kind of person does that?!?

He must have a locking differential.

Think he needs to drive that truck to the local dump instead of the swap meet. I have never seen anything worth buying and the pile in the truck bed as well as the cab keeps growing month to month.

The Seagrave was parked right down from us and was pulling in the crowd. Very well built machine.
