Walked in to see a friend this morning to find this sitting on the bench about to go on the car. Brand new English Factory made 97's on a polished Evans manifold. This setup will be in Pebble Beach in a month or so. After that, I can show you the rest of the car...........but until then Gentlemen, I give you PURE PORN
Some of the most Historical Hotrods and Customs attend Pebble Beach every year....Talk about being a SNOB...by the way very cool intake!
While in general I would probably agree with you. I have been around this particular car for the last year or so. It has been a historical adventure for me. Besides the fact that it is historical and way cool, I have met a bunch of great guys during the build process. I have fabbed a few parts for this car.....no one will ever know except me and the guy who owns the car but they will be on the car when it is shown....imagine that...some of me on pebble beach john The show is august 15th, 2010
Nice! I know what car that is going on & can't wait to walk around it at Pebble Beach. Hey that must mean I am a snob......cool!!!
It wil be held Sunday, August 15. http://www.pebblebeachconcours.net/ See you there; we're doing the Concourso, the Historics, and Pebble Beach. Gary
OMG.... New carburetors, and a billet funky bracket on the front of that vintage intake! Sacreligious! Just kidding by the way.... Totally BadAss setup that has plenty of history. Looks great!
thrashing is not quite enough to describe him recently.....he is probably going to be pissed I posted this but what the hell....he's an old guy, I can take him
Well if any of y'all are around that weekend and want a less-snobby car show, you should stop by the Concours de Lemons just a few miles away at a county park! http://concoursdlemons.com/ That's right, last year the Gremlin Xs and Pintos were on the lawn and the Ferraris and gull-wing Mercedeses were in the parking lot!
there are all kinds of snobs... art snobs, tattoo snobs, music snobs, mini truck guys who think we're snobs, its all relative. I wish my stuff was as nice as some of the cars at pebble beach...
NICE. Bet it would look great on a yellow 26-27 T Roadster with the engine mounted in the trunk. Pebble Beach is on my "Bucket List" Good luck have a great time!
I used to 'write off' Pebble Beach as a Rod Snob fest. But when I finally went a few years ago, I ran into so many old friends I had missed for so many years I couldn't believe it. I made a hasty judgement, and was lucky enough to rectify it. A true experience, our passion in perfection. Go at least once, life is too short.
Very nice. Glad to read that here. There's nothing like a high end concours. I feel that if someone can't find something at any of the bigger events, Meadowbrook, Amelia Island, Pebble Beach, that doesn't raise their blood pressure in a good way, they're not true enthusiasts. One of my personal goals is to show my own at Pebble Beach. Might be 2-4 years away but I'ma gonna do it.
That is a sweet setup. The whole Pebble Beach Concours, Monterey Historics thing is high on my bucket list.
Frank finally said it was Ok to post SOME....not all, just some. I think he is really excited for you and jimmy B to see this thing. On the back edge there is a clear looking dried liquid..........mine...don't touch
Isn't it about $100 a pop to just get into Pebble. Everything over there is "all about the money." I always wanted to go, but at this juncture it doesn't look too promising
I heard it was $150 to get in but i could be wrong. does this look familiar ? ( thanks abomination for the cover post, I stole this)....YEP, same as the photo above
Actually it is over $150.It is for a charity though. There is some real killer cars there. They have Historic Hot Rods there now and started incorporating motorcycles last year and this year they expanded it to two motorcycle classes. Not too snobby to me.Also everything has to run. I know of some cars that were in GNR that wouldn't run! They also have a drive where the participants do 80 miles in the show cars and park them down town.If you participate, you get extra points in the show. Its free. I've gone to bike shows where everyone was snobby if you weren't dressed in a black T-shirt and jeans to show your "individuality".
Frank who owns this car told me that because his is a competition car, it only has to run. The car has an in and out box with no clutch so they are going to allow his car to be brought to the space for the bonneville cars....9 of them as I understand. He did say that it had to run but that is not going to be a problem
