I took 3 different tachometers and set all of them up to fit in Sun NC-1 cups (that none of them were supposed to go in). After I got through making tab A fit slot B for all of them, I made 3 wiring harnesses for them. One of the tachs is a SST 801 (10,000 RPM) for my old Anglia project, one is a SST 802 R (new 8000 RPM) for my 55 Chevy project and one is a Classic Instruments Mooneyes for my 56 Ford pickup project. The Anglia tach and the pickup tach are now waiting on their housings to get back from Houston Speed & Sport with fresh chrome. The one for the 55 is ready to install.
If you don't know what's special about the NC-1's, you might not have been around in the 60's. But I'm still wondering if you can be Obsessive/Compulsive and have ADD at the same time. LOL

Interesting thread. Today I'm pulling off the duct tape I used to repair my race car at the track last weekend so I could drive it home. Gotta love that stuff.

Drove the '49 out to La Cresenta to the Early Rodders meet. I hadn't been in years. Too many newer cars like an Audi R8, Mercedes AMG, Ferrarri, etc.....Last time I'll go out there. Drove home and stopped by the Caffine Cruisers. Picked up the wife and went to breakfast, then attended the Hawthorne Teen Challenge Car Show. Same story, "Donks" and new Camaros, Vettes, Mustangs, etc......(sigh)

Extending Lola's butt by 6". No really! I'm lengthening the rear of my '51 Hudson (Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets!). Trying to improve on the curvature of the back of the car.
    Peace,

running down a 'no right brake light' wiring problem on the '27 - bulbs are good, just have to fiddle with wires connections. Had to knock off at noon - temp was 105° and the swamp cooler just can't keep up. Hit it again at 0400 mañana.

    Big car chore day-

    1) installed sign at Taylor Engines, cause Chris is cool and he needed a sign.

    2) Picked up my old dead 327 at Limeworks and brought it back to Chris at Taylor's cause he offered to tear it down and tell me if is junk.

    3) Rolled over to pick up my buddy Doug's (Denny Crane on the HAMB) 1950 Merc. 1/4 panels. Man are they nice!

Tomorrow I'm off to the LB swap to try to sell my 1950 Ford Convertable.

Special thanks to slddnmatt: one of most talented builders I have met, he created this. And thanks to racinman on the HAMB here; he delivered goods at the time and price he promised. -chopnweld

  18. Woke up my 60 Caddy after two years rest(preceded by a 20 year hibernation:eek:) Remote gas can, hot battery--cranked right up :D Put 'er on the lift, dropped the gas tank, dumped about 10 gallons of 20+ yr old gas...stinky, but not gelled or gooey.....Straightened said tank(looked like somebody jacked the car up from the rear dead-center:mad:) Started with changing the wheels(wires with MichelinX pinner 3/8 whitewalls :))...two of the damn wheels are small GM pattern:rolleyes:...got on the 'bay and ordered adapters and called it a day.

I've been trying to figure out why my brake lights no longer work but can't seem to spend more than 5 minutes at a time on it. I keep getting interrupted by the kids or something. One dog worked her way under the deck and killed a muskrat so I had to get her and the dead rodent out, I really didn't want that thing stinking up my backyard as it decomposed. Not to be out done, the other dog manages to get out the front door and sprint away, so I spent 45 minutes trying to get him back home. Huskies can be an adventure.

Pulled the carpet up from the passenger side of the DD, 'cause the darn A/C condensate hose fell off somewhere and all the water has been draining under the carpet instead of out on the ground. Smells good, too!
