MerCom6465;WOW,nice looking lineup!!! I've had my 65 since 67 and I'm building a 65 wagon, taking alot longer than I thought! I had a chance to buy a yellow 65 Caliente a couple years ago and flaked,it was a cherry, unmolested stocker. It had original paint and interior,289 had a stock rebuilt with about 10,000 miles, nice driver. finally hardwired my internet..heres my 65

14 to 1 289, currently a dynamic c4 which is hurt, and thanks to it not hooking up, a built 8 inch..hoping to change her up once i have my shop set up

one of these days Im gonna finish up the hood. Its been like this since I did it at wyotech in 05-thinking about using it as a mold to pop a few more out

the pics were taken in 07 when i was at the Borgeson car show. I normally just launch the car but my buddy wanted smoke...so, open headers, 7500 rpm, 4.11s and a locker got some attention.

I know what you mean Roy, all my projects take longer than I thought. I have broken one of hot roddings golden rules by having more than one project going on at a time. What are you planning for your wagon? Street cruiser or street/strip car?

Thanks George, your comet is coming along great! This wagon was for sale a few months ago. I think i still have a phone number. It was a solid car, 6 cyl. auto.

MerCom;my wagon will be a cruizer. It has a 302,T-10 and an 8" with 3:55s.I'm using 67 Cougar spindles and 4 piston Kelsey-Hayes discs, stock rear drums, all new front V-8 steering. The wagon has most of the bodywork done, new floors, still needs wiring, fuel and brake lines, interior, glass and paint.Unfortunately the 65 Comet racecar gets most of the attention, and money,so the wagon is about 3 years behind schedule. Thought this might be the spot to ask. I have a 64 cyclone. I am doin it up B\FX style. I want to get the front up a bit but no needs to go to the extremes like they did in the 60s. I was thinking of machining a set of one inch balljoint spacers out of aluminum. Is this allright or is there a better way to go about this? Thanks. I'll post pics soon.

You can use 67 big block Mustang springs to raise the front.Ball joint spacers just don't seem safe! I have used the springs for a 67,390 FE Mustang to raise my Comet back in the day, they ride stiff though. ROY.

Sounds like it will be a cool wagon when finished Roy. Tell me more about the cougar spindle setup. I am familiar with the granada swap. I would like to add disc's to my wagon sometime this winter.

MerCom;the 67 Cougar spindles use the 4 piston Kelsey-Hayse discs, you need to use Cougar outer tie rod ends. While I was cleaning up the parts I realized the whole assembly will bolt to 65 Comet V-8 spindles, wish I had found that before I bought and cleaned-painted the Cougar parts. The 66-67 Mustang,Fairlane-Comet discs are all the same.I had the Granada setup on my 65 Comet, was never really happy with the results. It stopped OK,but I was never happy with them.I have the Kelsey-Hayse on my racecar now and like them much better.NPD sells the whole setup to bolt to your V-8 spindles now. MerCom;another thing about the 4 piston brakes is that there were problems with the original pistons as they were aluminum and prone to stick, but the newer ones have stainless pistons,I have not had any problems.I have a friend that has a 67 Cyclone and a 67 Fairlane that he has owned since new, both have the Kelseys and he never has had any issues.
