This car was built and driven around So. Cal in the late 60's and 70's by a fellow named Abby Abadjian. He hung around the original Pete & Jakes and multiple unique pieces were crafted by Abby and Jake during it's construction. Does anyone have any information on Abby or the car's construction? I've owned this car for 25 years and never really sought information from others than what Abby's widow or friends of Pete & Jake would provide. If you feel like you have something you'd like to share, please feel free to submit via thread or PM. Thanks in advance to all. Sincerely, LSMJAMISON
That car was featured in Street Rod Builder (I think) some time ago, right after it was purchased... I had that issue floating around somewhere. I'll have to find it now. Spike
Yip, it was in street rod builder magazine, but the story was written about me and my dad finding it... i still have it and am just now trying to figure out if someone here might have better insight. Most have a problem trying to discuss their association with Abby or their knowledge of his life. Not sure what all that means, but the few i've met that knew him well have little to tell?
Just read one of the "in the barn" books and this thread came up when doing a google search for the Abby guy. Anyone find any info on him? The book makes him out to be a mystery man hinting he should be looked into.
............and the OP hasn't been back on here in 9 years!...So who knows if he is still around. The mystery deepens.
I know this is an old thread , but . . . His name was Abby Egeshian or Ageshian . I worked on this car at Pete & Jake's when Abby owned it . Abby taught me some valuable lessons about flatheads .
I called some So Cal friends to check the family name. With names like Agajanian and Siroonian, I am sure that they know some relatives of this Abby fellow.
I had a good idea Pete Eastwood would have remembered. Pete has been acknowledged as the 'last man standing' in the expanded P&J group... R.I.P., guys.
