I just bought these wheels for my wife's Chevy II wagon. There are no markings in the inside of the wheel. I know the caps are Appliance but I do not think the wheels are Any one know what kind of wheels these are? Does this take a mag lug?
I say that NOT because of the 'A' on the cap. They look like an early cragar knockoff that AR would have put out.
Nope ,,Appliance chrome copies ,,Western Auto ,Sears ,J C Whitney among many others sold em ,,the poor mans "Americans" ,,
NO ,,fom the looks of the lug holes ,,they use a standard lug nut ,,most steel "Mags" used regular lug nuts,,only the Aluminum Wheels used mag luf nuts ,,
That "A" is Appliances Signiture "A",,not Ansens ,,i have several Ansens here,,their center caps and the lettering on the back of their mags have a different "A: ,,
yep, you are right and I am wro.... wron.....damn it,..... I can't say it,............... well that's what my wife says
ROD; the Wife is always "Yes Dear You're Always Rig,,,a righ,,,a ,,,righ,,a ,,shoot ,,can't say that either ,,lol,,lol,,lol,,
Hey Man ,,go to your local car parts store ,,i got these from O'Reillys ,,and by Chrome Steel Standard Lug Nuts ,,werks n looks great and pretty cheap too ,,
Those chrome "Acorn" style lug nuts come in a package of Four too,,ya,,that make ud five lug nuts per wheel guys have to buy more than we need ,,a Marketing Ploy ,,but for you ,,that would be perfect ,,'bout $10 bucks a package ,,
Thanks for the great info. THere is a little rust around the bolt holes. I was thinking about painting that part black if the rust does not clean up very good. Thoughts?
no---wd40 and some 4 (0000) steel wool and good old elbow grease should take care of that---don't do the paint thing.
What color is your wife's wagon? Biting ideas here, but those would look cool with the centers detail-painted to match...
The wagon is turquoise. I did a little research on rust removal and I am pretty certain that a littel Autosol will do wonders on the rust and clean up the chrome pretty good. Might try a littel this weekend if I can find time. Thanks everyone.
Are these the world famous one-dented-spoke wheels I've heard about? I think they made them for Pintos. LOL. Gary
