Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Martin_F, Mar 13, 2010.

  1. Alright guys, it's been an exciting day for me...
I got my motor back from rebuild early this week, and today we finally fired it up!
I know you like videos, so here we go:
    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/V-3hz4Gi0hw&hl=de_DE&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/V-3hz4Gi0hw&hl=de_DE&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Sorry, sound quality is not too good...

I'll post up some more pics of my progress tomorrow.

Here's a link to the build so far if you're interested:

You are sure taking a chance by running that Olds any time at all without running it long enough to break in the cam. Sure hope the next time it fires it doesn't eat the cam and lifters. If you aren't going to break in the cam, the least you should do is run low pressure springs.

  11. Thanks for your replies!

The shop already had it running, but I couldn't be there. They already took care of running it in. BUT we were to excited just staring at it, so we wanted to hear it roahhrrr.... :D

This whole build thread rocks! I just started on a 37 (all I have is a cab and Im building the rest) Your build is a great reference for me...thanks!

  19. Thanks guys, and: you are very welcome!

  20. Fuxl, I've been following your build thread...GREAT JOB! Your work has inspired me to get off my ass and back to work on my 35 pickup. Why are you calling it a 36 when the cab is 1935 model? Is it what the title says? Your grill is certainly a 36. So are you buliding a 35 or 36??? Maybe you'll call it a 356! So far so good, it looks AWESOME!

  21. It's all about the title!
Guess I could have used a 1970 F150 title, because that's what the rear axle is out of...

GoesLikeStink: I appreciate your kind words, and I can't wait to ride down the road in this baby ;)
Do you have a build thread on yours too?

Oh, and that other build thread makes me feel worthless... ;)

  22. No, you are doing a great job....we all need inspiration to make us better!!

No build thread on my truck yet... I just decided to set aside a day a week to work on it after visiting your thread.

  23. here are the latest pics, thought I would share:

It's been a while since I was on it too, but the plan is to drive her before the end of the summer, so I better get going...
