    O.K. Boyd here's your update:D

After two tries(the first shot I couldn't have gotten more dirt in it with a shovel)It's kind of a custom mix of colors from some alkyloid enamel that I had and some of the same that I had mixed up but didn't like the shade with a little of this a little of that and a lot of the other I found a shade I liked and added some gloss modifier to dull it a little.

  6. What makes you think its a chrysler? It looks like a Buick, a pontiac, or an international truck to me.

The body is a chrysler 210 doctors coupe, but the grill is a shortened international truck grill

When I built it thats what rat rods were(hot rods without the fit and finish) But now it's changed into shock factor crap without anything truly interesting.

Oh yea, I'm going to get it going as a roadster as fast as I can so I can drive it this summer(and to get rid of the piles of parts laying around the shop) and then work on the coupe doors(they will be a little more involved)and roof.

The comments really are a motivator. Thanks Robert

Next was a grill I had been looking at maby buying some sort of premade perforated aluminum sheet but decided to take a wack at making one instead, The first try need a little mor thinking and less hole punching( I didn't like how it didn't have a patern on two axis's)

starting again with a little more thought

    all shot full of holes

with the trim on I still desperatly need the lower trim piece that ties the bottom together.

before tear down the car would over heat during the hot august nights cruize, a few laps idling with the occasional burn out would send the temps over 220 degrees (why is there no degrees simble on a keyboard?)
and with the new grill probably being more restrictive than what was on it previosly I fugured a fan shroud was in order.

    paper template

    .060 aluminum bent to a 90

a little work with the shrinker

make believe template come real life

intalled the shell to find the center of the fan

    like the look?

found center and drilled for the circle cutter(another home made tool)

    presto whamo!

next I cut a 2.5" strip and formed it inside of the shroud and rivited the ends together(it was a little more than 48" so I actually had to add in some filler strip)

mounted on the bead roller with the tipping die, I wasn't sure this would work but it sounded a lot easier than the streatcher

    yup....works

the shroud looked a little plain so in went a few beads to jazz it up.

Assembled it all and rivited with solid rivets, and gave it a brushed look with some scotch pads

Then doom and gloom set in I hadn't accounted for the frame rails being tapered in, I can't get the grill far enough forward to get past the fan, and I cant get the bolts in the fan after the grill is installed, sooo...... F$CK!!!!!!

I think I will rework the bottom of the shroud to be removable... It sounded like a good time to quit before flustration reaked havok.

all in all I'm happy with where it's going.

    Thanks all
    Robert

Looks rad. Did it have a vibration? the rear pinion angle looks a little wacky. Glad to see the Progress way to go on the metal work on the grill shell

On my Mac, it's option+0 (number zero at the top of the keyboard, not the number pad to the right) so it looks like this:

    220º

On a PC, you might try the alt key plus the numbers up top, or alt+0176 on the right keypad.

It does look funky in the pictures, but it is the canceling angle to the joint at the slip yoke.

Wow, that is really look great! I'm impressed.

Well, Technically (puts on art director hat), option+0 yields a Masculine Ordinal Number for Spanish and Italian. Option+8 is the actual degree symbol. º vs ° .
