I know I am probably posting in the wrong place and I will be told to read the rules... but I just bought a boat and I have no clue what it is.. I just saw the engine and said I'll take it..

What is it? please forgive the bad quality of my cell phone pics...

    Thanks Chandler

I'm sorry if this turns out to be a "traditional read the rules" flamefest but anything with a twin carbed Dub'ya head is awesome in my book! I would freeking LOVE to get my hands on that boat!

You should build it like a traditional hot rod, it would be awesome...

That's a killer find right there. Have you decoded the 409?? That looks like a $4,000 engine!

  8. S-W Marine Customline gauges. I understand they're pretty rare beasts, but I stand to be corrected... I've got a N-O-S one in my collection and the automotive versions in my 'Cat.

The boat's a really cool find. Look forward to seeing your rebuild of the old beast.

That looks like a great project. Could it be an mid to late 70's Sanger?

its not a sanger. its and early 60's rayson craft. the metal nose plate, steering wheel and the trim line give it away. it looks to have a fiberglass deck. they came with wood decks as well. wood is pretty rare. the boat looks to be all original and restored its worth a little bit.

if you decide to sell it or want to swap for fab. work let me know. ive been looking for one just like that for 10 years.

If it were mine, I would be welding a hitch on the back of my "34". I agree, that thing is bad ass. Awesome find. Gary

That hull looks like a late 60's Stephens, my son resently parted one out. It was a wood hull that was full of dry rot,but had a sweet running Pontiac 400 in it, that went in to his 66 GTO.

    Uhh, take another look.

Great boat, be cool to restore it, but I wouldn't blame you for pulling the motor for a hot rod, but please save the boat if you can. It's a real nice "speed boat" (yeah rustyford40, I'm an old timer too I guess.).:D
