here's a site i've had bookmarked for quite a while, but it's not strictly "technical" in nature so i never put it on here. very interesting none-the-less.

Great list. Checked out some of the links. Most were good. One turned out to be an unrelated advertisement.

I hate to show how dumb I am with computers....but, how do I save all this valuable info?? What is bookmarking?? Can I somehow save the entire thread??

Sorry for the numb questions, but others may be in the same computer-challenged shape that I am in. Lots of great info that should be at our fingertips.

And, thanks for all the effort to catalog the info.

    hi, folks.

    me again.

i just received a pm from vince falter of fordgarage.com. in the very first page of this post, where i copied brad54's old post into this new one, there was a link to broken stud removal which originated in fordgarage.com. it's the 27th (+/-) link in the post.

his site has now changed names and URLs, and the link originally shown in the post is now broken. i've went back and edited the link and now it will work again.

as i said above, brad54 originated the first version of this thread and he gets the credit for finding the link. however, i can tell you that i've tried this trick since originally seeing it and IT WORKS!

over on the Garage Journal Stuart in MN just posted up the link to the bolt reference charts on boltdepot.com. pretty cool.

here's a short clip that describes that these do:

"These PDF charts, tables, and other printable tools will help you identify the size and type of fastener you are looking for. Feel free to print them for your reference.
    Lay-over Charts

After printing, lay your fasteners directly on these full size charts to identify them."

    Fantastic thread - thank you.
I tried this link above without any luck. Also typed in the address. Any other ways to get into this site?
