    Gang,
I'm trying to find a source for woven SS mesh, suitable for use as a radiator guard or over hood side openings. The kind I'm searching for was used on old sports / rally cars (as rock guards over the head lights) and is often seen on retro style "Moal-ish" roadsters covering various scoops / inlets). But recently, the only place I've seen it is on Model A's - used to make the aftermarket screens mounted in front of the grille shell. I'd rather not buy an entire A screen just to cut it up, so.. any clues? Thanx in advance, as they say. Gary

If you check with a fireplace supply company, the replacement screen they sell for fireplace screens, you can get it in S/S, it's not expensive and they usually have different size mess, and you can order as much as you need, I know it sounds kinda hokey, but once you see what they have to offer you'll feel better about it.

    Old shopping karts....?

  7. Shop around, many industrial supply houses carry the material.

Use Google and search for wire cloth or woven wire cloth.

WOW. A flood of places to look. Thanx Guys. I had tried commercial sites on the web, but it was twice the price of a Model A stone guard. I only need a small piece. Woo Hoo! Gary

I replaced me grille last year with some stainless mesh, I looked all around for prices, and ended up using

    http://www.bwire.com/

They came back to me with the best price on the product that I was looking for.

Check them out, pretty sure you will find they have the best price.

Were you looking for perforated or wire mesh material? There is a big difference in appearance, obviously.

Here is a stainless rem that i scored from a steel yard, i will use it for a custom air intake as it is too small for an insert. This is the perfect size for a grille, imo.

  20. you can try your local welding/ fab shop they can probably order it if they dont allready have it

i got some stainless expanded sheet for the grille in my 60 t-bird just a thought
