I heard that this was the last car show. The tattoo show will continue, but the car show will be at another time and place. Apparently, the city was asking for an additional $20K for the area outside of the Queen Mary. I had a great time but the box office opened 1 1/2 hours late.
we had a good time as usual!!...i took home best traditional award, for a chest piece i did..WOOOHHOO!!
I went on sunday and alot of the cars in those pics were not there. I guess i will have to go on saturday next year. But it was still a great time.
Here's the deal!!!! #1 The box office opened late, due to some unexpected delays. We apologize for that. #2 The gates opened late, due to guys who WERE TOLD,if they wanted to leave, they had to do so BEFORE the time the gates would open. They waited til we were ready to open, and THEN decided they wanted to leave! That's billshit guys! Next time, they will have to stay and WAIT,like everybody else who read the rules! One guy decides he was gonna leave NO MATTER WHAT and proceded to try to run over the security gaurd! DUMBASS!!! We escorted him out, them let the show continue. It's hard to run a show when some guys don't want to follow the rules. We ran our asses off, getting guys out of the show,AFTER the show had already started! Other than that.....IT WAS A GREAT SHOW!!!!!!!! Keep your eyes open for my pic's later on tonight when I get home.....I even got some CAR pictures, hahahaha!
There isn't gonna be a next year. Trace from Keen entertainment is seperating the carshow from the tattoo convention. No more carshow at the quenn mary!
Well,I do have to say this,Bad Bob and I are about the same size, and that guy moves fast when he has to. If the car show moves,I'll go where it goes. I like both, and would b e willing to spend money on both places to go,but hopefully some kind of agreement can be met to keep the two mated. I will definitely have a car and/or bike there next year.
Wait I know I am new... but i am confused... I have heard the name Trace as the promoter and see Bad-bob on here saying why things went haywire or reasons for things no opening on time.... Is Bad-Bob = Trace... if so I wanted to ask... what is the difference between the showcase of Kustoms and the Long Beach motorama that was advertised at the show this weekend??? Beucase at first I heard the showcase of Kustoms was going to be in sept?
People, this is a picture thread, keep all the he said, she said questions and show politics out of it. Make your own thread if you want to discuss what is going to happen with the show. Thanks. Now let's get back to Cans and Cars!
I work the show with Trace. The MoFo's and the Cavaliers help park the cars and get them out. The Showcase of Customs deal in the Dome, last year, was a test for a possible show at the Long Beach Arena, this year. It went over so well,Trace jumped on the chance to do a "Car Show",without the tattoo stuff. I'm sure he used the dome again this year, because he could. It was pretty toned down, compared to last year. Okay....i'm done explaining on someone elses thread. I'll go do my own thread! Sorry Hooligan...
Finally someone with a ton of pics. Thanks for posting Question, does anyone know why Bob looks so sad?
ACME FACTOID: His nick name was originally "Sad Bob" or "Mad Bob"but due to a typo on a post years ago on the HAMB it became "Bad Bob".
He wasn't sad,he was resting. We ended up hanging out with him sporadically for the full three days we were there. A little about my buddy Mike though. This was a surprise birthday gift to him,and a thank you for serving out country. See,Mike is a Purple Heart vet that served two tours in Iraq, came back, fought cancer and still has shrapnel coming out of his body, all the while getting screwed over by the VA system,so I did what I could do to thank him and say Happy Birthday, and brought his ass out here to this show. I could have taken anyone, but he deserved it. All this shit he has gone through, and he just turned 27. Best friend I could have spent a three day weekend with, and now we have this fun time to always remember. By the way Bob,he was very pleased to meet you, said you are one of the coolest guys he has met. Definitely looking forward to meeting up again.
It's cool Bob,you're just explaining, which is natural when people are throwing things out there that should have been addressed in a separate thread. After talking with you this weekend, you are another person I have major respect for.
Since Bob is posting the bike pics on his thread,I'll post my bike pics from the show here on mine too: I wanted to win this bike so bad! It's the DePalma clothing Shop Chop Giveaway bike. My buddy Slim built it and I entered to win it,but I didn't,so I visited it:
