    Hi . Just saw something on the Econoline group that it's been changed to August but no date yet .

  2. I have loved this thread since it started!! Some great examples here.

    Well, here's mine;

    [IMG]

    It sat for over 30 years. I paid a whopping $200 bucks. The engine was stuck, tires were flat, had soooo much dust and animal debris on it and in it, no brakes, hole in the radiator, gas tank was a rusted out mess and a bunch of other good stuff.

    All in all I have very little invested in this thing and I only have a few more items to take care of and I'll be driving the heck out of it!

    Here's the link to the thread I started when I got it a few months ago;

    That's a great pair of photos, NMBuellist!

    Hey, we got my '65 van started over the weekend! The 302 HO sounds MEAN with my short pipes. :D I need to work out a belt misalignment issue, a leaking fuel regulator issue, and bleed the brakes and it may just be driveable! :D :D :D

    The Ford event people have now confirmed Aug 12 will be the launch date. I should have waited another day to post about the event. I was with our contact Jim yesterday when he got the call. This date should be more flexible for everyone being later in the summer.

    Will keep you posted on any updates, there will be a webpage setup by Ford or us to sign up if you are able to go. Ford is also interested in stories you may have about your van.

    No blocks on the Econo Truck. Just springs.

    My 8 door has 4" blocks until I get the springs done.

    Has any one run air shocks in the rear. I've been hunting around for a couple weeks now, and am having trouble finding any for the early econolines.

    I had some on mine. Sorry dont have them any longer to get the number off them. Measure the extended length, colapsed length, and end style. Go to a real auto parts store (not a box store) and tell them what you came up with and they will find you some. Better yet call Monroe or Gabrial on your own. Hope this helps.

  21. unless you dont have a choice stay away from Monroe,I just had a pair snap at the post where I had HIJACKERS for 30 years............but yeah they should be easy to find,if its a early 100 start by looking at mustang/falcon.............

    How bout some econoline interiors? these things are huge inside. forget the mini bar. you can have a full blown tiki bar with a casino, rotary phone, tv, and a bed.

    Let's see em...

    I had air shocks on my '65 Econo . Taking turns it would lift the tire off the ground . Took them off two months later . Some people on the Econo group have had the top shock bracket bend and brake off with air shocks .

    I did it i joined the club!! i sold my '60 pontiac on Friday, and bought my '66 Econoline on Sunday. Its and 8 door, I picked it up in Lewiston, Idaho and drove it about 300 miles home without any problems. Cosmetically its a little rough, but Oh the potential! and it runs like a champ! I'm stoked, i'll get some pictures up as soon as i can.

  27. Check you out!!!!! Very cool!

    Now let's see the pics!

    ^^^Cool. I think getting the ass end low is the easy part. It's the front half that's the bitch.

    I agree! Gotta build a custom axle to clear the oil pan so at full drop (9") it will clear. Then i will only have to channel it 5" to lay body. The axle is actually be the easy part...I have built spindles before, the hard part is getting the steering done right so there is no bump steer!
