I've been looking for an affordable Pullmax for a while. I made an offer on one, without much tooling, 500 miles from home but it didn't happen. I mentioned it to a friend that I had this deal fall through, and after describing the machine a little, he told me of one that was a couple miles from my shop. I thought he had it wrong. He knew the owner, and contacted him about it, and convinced him to sell it. I took a look at it, and bought it on the spot. It has tooling for doing louvers, circle cutter, slitter, punching, and some other tooling that I haven't identified yet. That same friend has a wrecker service, and delivered it to my shop today.
It actually does seem like a friendly press ... of course he's just been fed a meal of fresh hay, why wouldn't he be happy I guess.
Fay Butler has a book on the Pullmax (Universal Sheet Metal Machine Handbook), if you are interested. http://faybutler.com/books.htm
Fay's book "Universal Sheetmetal Machine Book" is absolutely awesome. But you can check some of his books out at your local library. My local library has several of them.
Great score!! I've been working on one local that hasn't been used for years. The guy never uses it but won't get off it. It would be a great addition to my shop so I guess I'll just have to kill him to get it Get yours up and running and show us some pieces you've made. Frank
