1957 caddy 365 ???

I have a 1957.365 cad with partial flow oil filter . the filters bottom line is hooked up to the front of the engine ,drivers side ,below the head....the other one is missing,there is a {plugged} hole on the top of the block up front near the drivers side head, is that where it go's ??thanks

I also have a 57, I'll go out and look tomorrow. Mine is air conditioned so the filter is on the left side and it has been 10 years since I rebuilt the engine.
