Wow, I am so jealous... That is the perfect daily driver... buff it out, get some nice caps... maybe lower her a tad... cruise.
I'd buff it out. You may be surprised how well it turns out. And I think a Caddy deserves to be shiny.
Man, what a deal ! If You had 60 and were lookin for parts, You'd probably have to pay $800 for the grille ! That's one of the all time great deals I've ever seen or heard of ! Clean it up and make it shiny then drive the hell out of it !
Thought I'd give you guys all an update on this thing. I got a wild hair to try and start the factory motor up (was gonna put something different in it). Anyways, converted it to pertronix distributor rather than points, rebuilt the carb, new plugs, wires, drained the gas, bled the brakes and put some new white walls on it... This thing drives outrageously good! I'm pretty pumped about it. To top it off, all of the lights, radio, power windows, power seat, and even the horns work. I'm a cadillac believe now. Here are a few pics from the flying eyeball and some that I took, the last one is after me and my buddy MeanyellowZ went over it with rubbing compound by hand to try and bring some shine back out. Enjoy!
Drives awesome! I plan on putting some bags on the ol girl here in a few weeks as soon as I get some of the other bugs worked outta the car.
If it were sold on a mechanics lien for the work done to get it running, then why did you have to get it running?
Nice score!! I used to be from Iowa. Theres a guy not far from my hometown. Guy lives in Newton and has tons of stuff for those. PM me and I can get you some contact info for you. Or you can call me at 928 249 0154 Brandon
The guy who brought it down to the mechanic brought 3 of his cars. The mechanic got the first two running and never was paid so he locked this car up and put a lien on it. Lucky enough, he started to work on this one as well! It had a few new brake lines and a few other things fixed.
Just look up the funeral home on the grave marker and call them. If its like the cars the son never pull up the marker either.
Like the other guys said, I'm afraid to take it outta there at this point. This thing started wayyyy too easy. Maybe its good karma?
Lucky Son of a Gun..... Thing looks like a 4 X 4 next to the lowered Cad.... I love 'em high and low though
Nice Car! I have to disagree with this. Find out where the marker belongs and see to it.It's your duty as a human.
I think that keeping the marker with the car is paying more homage to the owner, and his car than anyone else seems to be. I'd keep that marker in the trunk, but never go too long without making sure to give it a little respect. That Cadillac is "touched", if you know what I mean. Great looking car!
That thing is killer, I`d be grinnin` ear to ear drivin` that. I`d inquire at the funeral home about the marker, but it`d make a killer plaque.
^what he said... and the son was probably trying to keep it with the car as I'm sure it was his paps pride and joy... In a weird way it almost feels like things have gone tooo smooth on this thing. Maybe ol' Howard is riding shotty?
