Alright here's my dilema, I have a 1948 Pontiac with an inline 6, but the engine is not original and I need a carb kit for it, I believe the engine is out of a 1955 Pontiac but I could be wrong, but the carb in there is a GM Rochester Carb #7003536, so my first question is does anyone know where I can find a rebuilt kit for that?

Next question is, I found on ebay an already rebuilt rochester carb #7005922, does anyone know how interchangeable these carbs are, cause this one looks VERY similar to the one I currently have, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to your local parts house and give them the number, and make and model of your ride and they will get a rebuild kit for it,should be about 14.00$,the kit you get will have stuff left over because the kits cover a variety of 1bbl rochester carbs.

The number you listed is a casting number. You will not find these numbers in any Rochester publication. They are a “part” number for the unmachined casting. The casting can then be machined in a variety of ways, and the machined casting will then be given an actual part number. Your carb is p/n 7005922. See these links for your kit.

There are many more to numerous to list. Look for the 235 engine application in the links.

    Hope this helps!
