I plan on doing alot of driving, and the roads in MN are shit. The vehicle I'm building is a '31 Chevy pu with a 292 six. It's going to fairly light I don't want to have my teeth jarred loose or be thrown all over the road.I also have 50 Chevy sedan,I had bias ply on it,we where headed to Deadwood SD when we got to the other side of a bridge on I-90 It headed straight for the ditch, scared the hell out me.I vowed to put radials on right then and there, and I did.Give me some sizes you guys are running.I'm thinking 185-195 15s front and 235 15s back. Thanks for the responses.

  7. tires....man this is still the major component i lack..love the Radir cheater slicks...hell a topo needs big tires in the rear to look propper, IMHO...but the weight of the car and the fact that i'm going to drive it cross country.....but try and find a radial fatty that i like??????? i just have a bad taste in my mouth for recapps...i work with semi's all day...a cap coming off and beating my steel topolino????as stated above, why doesn't someone make a true one peice radial tire that looks like a cheater????

On another Forum someone, a young person most likely was looking @ a pic of the Mad Max Yellow Interceptor. "Are those some sort of special police tyres?" "Ummm, no those are called bias ply". Probably huge % don't know they existed.

If you plan to drive a lot in all kinds of weather, you will love the radial tires.
They are safe and also a good ride. I have over 60,000 miles on my A and have used up 2 sets in that time.

  21. I use Radials because of speed rating and safety.

I wouldn't even consider using bias ply tires on my coupe. Kinda like prefering mechanical brakes over hydraulics. To me hot rods are about performance, something bias plies just don't do.

If these are radials they are really kool!
Ithink an important aspect if runnin on radials is to have at least some stretch on the tire.
The bulge of large tires on skinny wheels makes it look like crap, a bit of stretch will make it way better, not kool as a X-ply but a good compromise.

I agree. And fuel pump's wheel/tire combo has the right profile.

Here are a few picture for you. Radials are good in my book.

  29. Coker Classics require tubes... ?

Guess I never noticed that until today.

Looks Great for a radial though.
