  7. hey rock... WHADDA SHOW!!!!
HOLY MACARONI!!! i wanna type this whole thing in caps!!! whadda show!!! HOLY FREAKING MACKEREL!!!!

Farmtruck... good show my man. good show. i was one of the announcers today so i saw everything and i really dug your pick-em-up!!!

    MCTIM... BITCHIN DIGGER!!!!

Guys.. you really cannot understand just how bitchin this deal is. GOBS of cars making "best you can do" passes on 600 feet of a beat to hell old air strip out in the middle of BFNowhere with nothing more than some sprayed stripes and some orange traffic stanchions as markers. 200 people sitting and standing out in a dirt field to get the best view they can plus dare i say thousands STANDING ALL DAY on the tower side... cars that run 185-200 plus testing the valve springs and the laws of probability for the sake of putting on a show... there is NO TEST AND TUNE... this track SUCKS and it is PERFECT because of it. its like 1951 exploded in your face. your trans brake and line lock mean NOTHING here!!!

can you imagine a bad ass blown deal getting SPANKED by a mildly souped up muscle car because it doesnt overpower the track.. or even more... guys PURPOSEFULLY burning the tires ALL THE WAY ... JUST FOR KICKS!>!>!!! gassers, muscle cars, HAGRs TRAD HOT RODS!!!! DIGGERS..flatheads, inliners, kustoms, car show, airplanes.. HOLY MACKEREL!!!!

WHAT A SHOW!!! EAsily the most enjoyable event this year... NO ladders, NO eliminations, NO pairings, NO BS. line up and run. period. RUN FOR FUN. for the SAKE of doing it. PUTTING ON A SHOW!!!!

Rocky... you got a monster on your hands and you have an announcer FOR LIFE!!! WHAT A SHOW!!!

I would like to submit a resolution to cancel June, July, August and September. October would be started next week. All in favor, say "aye".

Rocky, I'm speechless! What a blowout. Johnnie and I met Lee around 8:00 and he was driving around with his jaw open. There had to be 4x as many people as last Oct. They just kept pouring in the gate! It was beyond words. From a simple idea bloomed absolute dragracing pandamonium!

Johnnie got tons of pics (sorry if he was a pain in the rear trying to get a pass). He'll probably download them later today and I'll get some of them posted. If anyone has any request for ride pics(Farmtruck, I know he has pics of you 'cause he dug your truck!) let me know or PM me a pic of your car and we'll see if we have something.

Again Rocky and EVERYONE associated with this event (Especially Joe), Thank You in spades!!! I guess maybe pre-73 is the way to go!?!

One suggestion, need to work on the National Anthem for Oct. Ouch. Can't remember to book everything!

There were so many good cars there I did one pass with my car and parked it. Enjoyed the rest of the day watching everyone else run. The best part was my 5 year old tell me what cars where fast or slow. I hope he is hooked.

I borrowed some cable from a guy that had his Suburban and equipment parked right by the portapoty at the end of the staging lanes right behind the starting line.

So if you gave me a jump in the tech area before racing, yes, it was you, and I thank you for turning around and making it work!! It would have sucked pushing my pile all the way back to where I parked, or carrying the pare batterey

Glad you liked it!! It's all about having fun..

Right on!! Truck got a lot of looks yesterday that's for sure.. My e-mail is [email protected] If he wouldn't mind sending them or even posting them here for everyone else too. I think we all like car/truck porn right??

Traditional dragracing is the best porn of all!

I'll post and/or e-mail as soon as I get them. Later today or early in the week.

Rocky, Thank you for all of your hard work that you put into this event. And thanks to everyone who helped. Even though we didn't bring our car, my son and I had an awesome time. Last night my 10 year old son said " you know dad that wind and dust was nasty, but I'd go back tomorrrow if they had another one". I'm not sure but I think he's hooked. LOL. We can't wait for October for more Eagle Field drag racing. P.S. Do you know that because of the October event, people around here would buy a Camel if it was 65 or older and they thought it would pass tech at Eagle Field.

Dave be there or be square....it was great talking with you.

  20. Thanks Todd, I was hoping someone got that run. I think it was better than the first. :D

  21. Here's a few more pictures of our little group...never took the time to take very many others of the action, was having too much fun towing, talking, and watching...

Me (BIGREDTODD) and the tow rig, Rick (Howie Dude) and his '59, Tim (mctim64) and his '58, and Charlie Burns with his LSR '57, completing the full assortment of '57-60 F-100's:

ahhhh, the faces only some choose to love:

Peaceful end of the day shot...

And the fateful end to my day...looks like my F-100 wanted a fresh Cadillac sooner than I thought. AAA...highly recommended...because you can only puke vital fluids on the side of the road for so long:(:

As I posted, my father in law was on the starting line all day and he took tons of photos. If you have a request PM me and I'll see what I can do. He said he'll probably download his pics tonite or tomorrow. I'll throw some pics up on here too.

MrB...2, nice Barracuda. I'll check for you.

  24. The trucks lined up was a good idea.

Too bad about your truck, but at least it was on the way home instead of there.

  25. Wish I could take credit for it...it was either Tim or Charlie's idea...

I knew the engine was on borrowed time, anyone who heard it during the day could confirm that. That's the main reason I didn't run it down the strip (I had pre-registered and gone through tech)...

It was a used engine, and the plan was always to run it till it blew (I have another engine to build for it), I was just hoping to make it through the summer...

Good for him and great save....I do not like seeing people damaging their investments in the sake of fun. Absolutely do not want anyone to get hurt.
