History Bob's Big Boy Broiler Opens In Downey!

^^^^^From what I have heard about saturdays is that it was added, but for some reason none of the people that asked for it comes out. I'm like you

 

Yeah, everyone made a big deal about Saturdays and coming to the Broiler, so I figured it would be hopping. Bummer. Oh well! My Pops thought the place was really neat, cars or no cars.

Funny... I asked one of the Broiler employees if Kevin was around or if he was going to be in later. He said "Who's Kevin?" HAHA!

 

We have the Sat cruise for the guys who can't make it on Weds. Yes, it's still going on, but it needs to get bigger. I'm usually there and since it's "date nite" i get there around 7-8pm. I was there Sat and stayed till 12pm the only other cars were Brians 30-31 coupe and a DeSoto. Let make this bigger guys and hope to see ya there on Weds as well. Thanks CK

 

Crap! We must have just missed you! We got there around 5:30 or so and stayed until about 7:00 or 7:30! DOH! Was good to come out and grab a burger and the family really had fun!

Hey All,
Was thinking about a Saturday Summer Nite Movie Cruise, It would be a Hot Rod Movie of pretty high caliber, been in negotiations with the producer-distributor.
We still have to confirm it,but it's all up to you guys, The Movie Cruise would have a nominal fee to cover the cost of the movie,but copies of the viewing would be available for purchase and part of the entrance fee could be credited toward the purchase price. Mind you, this would be the 1st west coast veiwing en-masse of this film as it has not been released to the general public as of yet.

This would take place on the rear lot of the Broiler so it would be a back row of cars(very limited) and festival and lawn chair seating of the participant own furnishing=much like a concert in the park. We'll have popcorn available for a buck and drinks regular price. Food before/after,but not during viewing-in respect to the producers wishes.

Would like some feedback .

Good idea. Drive in / Sit in outdoor movies are cool, and to view a new high profile hot rod movie that hasn't been released yet, that's rad. Put me down for a couple of tix.

And if anyone has a lead on an inexpensive, reliable source for a projector, screen and sound equipment, can you please pm me? Can also look at renting one of those inflatable movie screens. Would be better to project the movie onto a screen than onto the wall of the car wash if we can.

 

If ya cant find a blow-up screen,how about a big white delivery van??? or something along those lines???? is there room
