Great thread. I'm not a fan of 5 ch amps in a higher end build, but in a budget system they have their place. Most people I know don't bat an eye at spending money on motor/suspension/etc, but are really tight when it comes to stereos. Funny how that is!

Thanks for all the ideas so far!

    Great thread.

I've been figuring out how to hide components and sub in my Galaxie and now I have better ideas.

Cool idea:let me ask you-how did you attach the flat cable to the detachable face & the head unit connectors?

I guess you could solder it-is there an easier/better way?

Maybe show a pic if you can-thanks!

Does anyone know where something like the headrests-with-speakers in post #60 are currently sold? I'm looking for ones that have the mounting brackets (like those shown) since they would be adapted to a bench seat.

I was thinking about hiding some tweeters up above the headliner. A Plymouth has the room to do that because of the "a gentleman should be able to wear his hat and drive" rule, Ford and Chevy cars might not. Hell, I could probably get a couple of 6x9s up there.

Mid-90's Mazda Miata's had speakers in the headrests. Probably find a few of those in the junk yards....
