My Galaxie is now a redhead

Well I got a wild hair one day that I wanted to change up the look of my 63 Galaxie 500 Sportsroof, then I made the fateful decision to tell a buddy about it. That buddy works for a sign company that another buddy owns, and well, they have a paint booth. One night after a few beers I get a serious look and hear, "Let's paint your car dude."

It's by no means a professional paint job, just a couple of amatures scuffing up the existing paint and another one laying down some enamel, but it's exactly what I was looking for.

The shots don't show it well, but the interior is red and I plan on painting a few pieces under the hood to match, plus a few items in the trunk during the stereo install. I need to get a striper to lay some lines on the car this summer though.

 

I kind of like it.

 

With the red and black interior I think it looks great...........

 

And the carpet matches the drapes. Seriously though I like it.

 

Ithought of doing the same thing, but didn't. Yours looks real good.

Thanks folks, I like it myself! I'm not a huge fan of the Cragars... they're kind of the red steel wheel of their day. That being said, I kinda had wanted some red steel wheels at one point haha.

They'll stay on until the tires need replaced but I am on the lookout for some new hoops.

We did use a boatload of medium flake, shows up great in the sun but not quite the bass boat flake I was thinking of at one point. I had to pull off of that idea.

 

Aahh, painted under the influence of alcohol. Looks great man, dig it.
