hes off to a good start. let him know that he can come back in with a weak black and shade a little on the skull even with fire. it makes it have more depth that way. but just a little... basically were the cheek would be to the upper part of the jaw bone. or in the eye socket to make it look more sunken in. and maybe a little less on the yellow layer. but he definetely is getting the concept down!

  5. We are try to figure out the best yellow to use, either they are too yellow or too orange, I suggested getting some transparent black and white, might make shading better.

  6. Helmet size is Large- it was my Chrismas gift!

the fire should be brightest at the start, and blue/purple at the tips.the helmet looks kind of pattered, should look more like stretched taffy.pagan gold kandy is great over the yellow for more depth..keep up the good work.

no pure white for highlights on the skull. u use candy yellow which is basically pagan gold from hok.

the best and only yellow to use is house of kolor chrome yellow. its not a pale yellow, but its not too orangey.

what are his steps? it looks like he is missing the candy orange over yellow step just before the last step of fire.

    the norm goes...

    molly orange/apple red candy
    molly orange/tangerine candy
    chrome yellow/tangerine candy
    chrome yellow/pagan gold
    white-chrome yellow/pagan gold

and i hope he is spraying the candies on the airbrushing with a mini detail gun on small to medium stuff and a fullsize on very large objects. u wont get the right effect out of spraying it with an airbrush.

There are some great people with huge talent very local to you up there. Get him out a little and get with Brian Truesdale (sp) he is/was about in your town, went by BT lettering years ago. Cliff Anderson II and III...

There are some widely known artists that will give tips and pointers.
He might be able to help out in kind with what he has to offer.
