As you know there are some of us that run in the flathead meltdown, well Odgie & Miss P thought it would fun for a few of us (me & Taildraggin in the T, Nifty & Nutrocker in their roadster and Mark & Jill in their Sports coupe) to have a little reliability run out round the North, with a few extras thrown in.

Here's a few pics of what we got upto.

Firstly it was a 200mile trip up there for me and Taildraggin. So it was a bit of a reliability run to get there.

We met up with a couple of others on the way and it took us over 7 1/2 hours just to get there, but the scenery was amazing.

This is the view once we got to where we were camping!! It was in the middle of nowhere

    There's more to come.

  2. Pics make me a bit homesick!

    Great shots though!

Next morning we woke up to this. Which being ooop north is a bit of a rarity(the sun being out) :D

Whilst driving round the field (we were camped on top of the hill) we noticed there was a motocross track
    [IMG]

and before we knew it Nutrocker had decided to try it out followed by Mark and with us in tow, now at this point we had no idea where the track went or if we would even get round it. We just saw it went up to where we were camped.

Once at the top we were ready to go out on the run Odgie and Miss had organised for us.

Unfortunatley at this point Miss P's car was having serious fuel problems (as it would cut out up hills) so we left it at this nice family's home.

Mid morning we stopped at a Steam Musuem.

After tea & biscuits and a guided tour we headed off to our next stop, which was a pub lunch...

Once we were fed, watered and warmed up, (damn it's cold up north), we headed out for our afternoon jaunt. Having no idea what route had been planned (we did have a rather nice booklet showing where we were going but seeing as there was only a few of us we just followed the car in front and enjoyed the scenery)

Then a short driveback to the campsite.
Just got back and by chance (couldn't believe it seeing as we were in the middle of nowhere) there happened to be an Austin7 club out on drive and popped in the field to say hi.

We then thought it would be a good idea to go down the bottom of the Motocross track to take some photo's of how steep the track was otherwise noone would have believed us. This time we realised that in the morning we had only driven up half of the track, so before we knew it we were driving up it again.

Great pictorial essay and proof that all it takes is a handful of like minded lunatics to have fun!

We all had such a blast, the drive up there was great and not in any hurry or stress, the views are some of the best this country has to offer and the track was just mental. Not being able to see the whole track and not knowing if we could get round and if we couldn't how would we get out just never crossed our minds enough to stop us.
Big thanks to Odgie and Miss P for organising it and inviting us and thanks to all who went and made it the weekend it was.

    Pete
