Huh? Lets see... My '48 Plymouth has been with me since 1987, driven daily since '94. My '62 Falcon will have been with me thirty years as of April 22 of this year. That car has actually been stolen and recovered twice in those years...

  3. Cool thread.

I've owned my '33 lotsadoors for well over 30 years.

However my relationship with this one goes back to when it was new.

Served as the folk's daily driver before being parked in the early '60s. Towards the end of that decade it was dragged out to serve as the 'paddock basher' and driver training machine. Needing something for the road in the 'early '70s, it was again ressurected and put back into service as a driver. Then over the next few years it evolved into the car pictured although back then it had chrome wheels and narrow whites. It served us well but at the end of the '70s it was sold to help fund the things a newly wed needs more than old cars.

The buyer drove it home and it was never seen again. However unknown to anybody was that it hadn't 'gone to God' as we thought, it had instead been put into hibernation.

In the early days of the new millenium, thru a weird chain of events, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time, late at night when it was rolled into the moonlight after more than 25 years in the darkness of an inner city shed. not one thing had changed, it even still had the same air in the same tyres as the day I sold it.

After a little negotiation with the guy I had sold it to all those years before, it again resides next to the '33 in my shed where it will remain unless it's being driven.

I got my '55 F100 in '71, met my last wife in '78, still got 'em both.
The roadster and tub aren't done, she remembers the last roadsters when we had the shop.
Now the F100 is almost paint ready (again!) and we take it to Billetproof and all the local drags. It is always well-received, but she says it's like we now star in the 'Support Vehicle'. Shit! Almost 40 years! (they both look young still....)

  19. Well .....

Guys who know me well know I have a penchant for tuff moPars. Ive had my Charger since 1982 and will never sell it I've decided, been with the car too long and have had too many memories and experiences with it to let her go.

My 3W scrapes in as its been on the road since late 2005.

My Bow Tie doesnt make the cut.

My truck's been in the family since about '75 when my cousin bought it. (b&w pic), then my brother got it from him in a trade in about 1981 (Blue pic)...my brother then gave it to me in the spring of 2001 and I've had it since...with a few different looks. I'd don't ever see me getting rid of her...

Started collecting parts for the coupe in my avatar in 1988. Got the frame that year, and the body in 1991. Still drive it regularly.

This is from 1961. Got it in 1959. So, 51 years.

This is where it's at today.

This one I had for seventeen years and recently sold because of a divorce.

This's been on the road for about twelve years now.

  29. about ten years with my avatar.

  30. We have owned the '58 for 15 years.
Pulled out of a barn in '95 with brakes locked on and dirty as hell!
New fuel, battery, freed up brakes, air in the tyres and we drove it home 250 miles.
    Speedo then read 47,000 miles.
Gave it a major clean and detail as well as giving it a mechanical rebuild over the years.
January this year, completed a 1400 mile road trip around parts of the North Island with my teenage Son. The speedo clicked over 73,000 miles then.
Still work in progress and collecting road trophies as we go.......
