Riverside, Calif..........."Napa 400..........June, 1977 (+ also some discussion of the accompanying Sportsman race).

A few months back, somebody on this thread asked about Norm Palmer. He finished 6th in the Cup race.

If I recall correctly, A.J. drove that car in the Daytona 500, and Pearson was in it the rest of the year.

Actually, Foyt drove that car to victory at the first (1971) Miller High Life 500 at Ontario Motor Speedway a couple of weeks after that picture was taken At Daytona.......

Saw some reference to Andy Hampton a few posts back. He's today's Photo of the Day !

This was shot at Dayton Speedway on 5/24/1970.

    Nice Dodge !

    Enjoy.

AJ also won the Atlanta 500 the first weekend in April before turning the car over to Donnie Allison at Martinsville.

Pearson didn't get behind the wheel of the 21 until Darlington of 1972.

Bob Ryan "The Smiling Irishman". I lived a couple of blocks from there and was at his lot often. He had a radio station in the back room of the little office. He played country music and would have county music stars there for a show ever week. You could wait outside and meet most of them when they left. Bought a 56 Ford from him. He sponsored local racers a lot. Allstarracing
