Wow God rest all their souls

  2. If you feel the need to point it out,,the correct spelling is Hippopotamus.

Interesting story of an event that would have been lost to time if not for one man who because of a tragic loss in his on personal life perused the fragmented story for many years.

He,along with others put the theory of abandonment to rest with the truth.

sadly their two boys never knew what happened but the grandchildren and great grandchildren know the truth.

So,as sad as the story is there is a least a vindicated husband and wife.HRP

One of the other articles said he may have fallen asleep as he did commonly.

Thanks for all the comments and to those who added to the thread. I realize this was borderline OT, but because the '27 Chevy became such a focal point of the story I thought it might be acceptable in the "History" section.
Hard to imagine what those kids endured, it's little wonder that they never really recovered.
Too bad they couldn't live long enough to see the truth.

That is a really interesting story. Makes you wonder how many things like that have happened over the years that were never solved. I would think that finally finding out what happened was a relief. Thank you. WOODEYE

  10. My uncle and his son, my cousin, Bill and Joe Walker were on that dive team mentioned in the article. He is a salvage diver and used to have a cabin at Cresent Lake. He's also one of these guys that gets engulfed by stuff like this and would spend the rest of life researching and diving until the mystery is solved. He shared some pretty cool and creepy pics on a family get together once. Over the years, he's found some pretty interesting stuff.

  11. Wow Comet! 6 degrees of separation is more like 3 degrees on the HAMB!
