Pushed the truck outside to clean up the shop today. Stood back and took a couple of pics for you.

Talked to him today and got some more information. As said before the truck is chopped 3inches, stretched 5 and is also channeled 3 inches and all four fenders are sectioned 3 inches. One bar has been eliminated from the grill due to the sectioning of the front end. The doors have also been suicided.
Maybe o/t, but here is a picture of his current driver and below that one of his current project.

Now that all the cutting and welding and grinding is done, i am so glad i listened to you guys and stretched the roof. I had originaly planned to lean the posts, and that would have been a lot easier. But the stock shape of the posts is much better, well worth the extra work.
I have done a bunch of cars and this was my first attempt on a F-1 pick up. Or in this case a M-47, being a Mercury.

No, i don't have an extra tailgate. The one i have is going to need some attention too. Did you know that the Merc tailgates are actually Fords with the FORD cut out and a little plate that says Mercury is spot welded in.

I guess I went through a lot of extra work quartering the roof. I had two roof and cut each quarter long and trim it to fit. That way there was no 1 -2 seem to weld in.

My self I like the mail slot rear window.

An update on the truck. I have filled the cowl vent and the gas filler and misc. mirror holes and finished stripping the hood and two doors to bare metal and fixing a small rust hole in a corner of a door. I have also used a modern Ford p.u. box floor to replace the wood one. Far less expensive than buying wood and runners and hardware. The truck will now go back in the corner, while i work on a new project for a friend. Hope to get back on it in the fall, i would like to drive it next summer in some shade of tinted primer of course.
