Been there done that! Got burned out with the local club years ago, held ever office and news letter editor as well. Clicks, doing all the work, change in focus and era of cars were all reasons. Clubs do have their place, but I can enjoy the hobby just fine as a loner. The HAMB is NOT a club, it is a life line to all the automotive interests I have and the people that share the same interests.

I belong to a lot of online clubs, which are invaluable as far as specific technical advice, but not to a specific club off line.

The Hamb is the best club ,At least we talk about cars ,The club I quit was more of a gentlemans club ...I enjoy the build more than showing my cars ...Clubs do have there place ... And I believe I left on good terms

Was in a club but alot of them suffer the dandruff effect...they are flakes. All talk and no action on their words. Its real hard to find people with committment to a cause.Lone wolf for awhile i guess.

  19. THAT has been my motto for nearly six years now, after quitting all three clubs I was in. Helped start one of them nearly 30 years ago, too. Been there, done that, got too damn many T-shirts to prove it. Enough politics in life without the farking drama of clubs. Screw that!

    Lone Wolf, baby!

Been through several clubs and about to leave the one I'm in now. It was more fun w/o all the BS before. Then I can buy a Lone Wolf plate for my car.

I like going to shows and events and just shoot the sh-t w/o worrying about all the crap and politics. If it isn't fun any more then its time to go. My club seems to want to spend time raising money and outdoing the other clubs.

Been there done that, not going back. I still wear all the jackets, shirts, and hats that I had to buy, after all it was my cash, that paid for them.

Quit mine, I believe on good terms. True friends remained, others.... mutual write off. I like keeping it simple, do what I want when I want. No excuses or apologies. So some clubs are great though, just not for me.

Been there, done that. Too many rules, too much politics. Be your own man. Best way to be. ;)

    howdy :)
i just recently quit the 4x4 club i belonged to for 12 years.
i was an officer in the club for the past 3 years, and member of our safety committee for several years.
unfortunately ive lost some good friends, over me taking a hardline stand on some of the clubs safety rules and regulations.
nobodys a winner this time. :(
