I am thinking 26 chevy because of the short hood. The longer hood didn't come out until 28, and your fenders don't look like 27 chevy fenders.

thanks for all the responses. i am interested in it, and it is solid...

  11. Be careful when you're told that the title "is here somewhere". Keep your $$ in your pocket till you have it in your hand! Once the money changes hands, the seller has NO motivation to find it. Sorry to be suspicious but I've seen this more than once. Anyone who says they are easy to get hasn't tried to get one lately. With that said, the car looks really good!

thanks again for all the responses, i googled for images of 25, 26, & 27 and it appears to be in that time frame...it just looks like it could be a fun car to build.

  15. It looks like a '25 (from the radiator shell).

    Nice find!

I don't think it is worth all that much as, somewhere between one and two thousand probably but I'd try and get the lady to put a price on it and go from there. She probably has an idea of what she wants for it and it may be lower than you had planned to offer or much higher than you feel it's worth.

1926 as spark & retard levers on dash and has headlight tie bar. Not really much difference between 25 & 26 apart from minor details although 25 typicaly have cast rather than pressed steel front chassis cross member for front engine mounts. 25 motor should have dizi and oil pump driving off back of gear driven generator - 26 is belt drive gen and oil pump in sump.

Great find - check out what Jimmy B has done with similar vehicle.

i think it's worth 2000...i hope it's worth 2000. any idea where i could get parts for something like this? ford parts seem readily available, but chevy...not so much. luckily everything seems to be there, but not sure what to do for the windshield, bumpers, door handles, & trunk lid...

Is there any of the wood inner structure left? I would check. Not a show stopper, but it will delay the show for sure.

<--- Ask me how I know.

there is some wood, but it's all dry rotted and falling apart. is there any place to buy replacements, or would i just be better off using steel box tubing?

Steel might go easier, certainly cheaper than buying a wood kit if it was available.

That car won't be a good start for a beginner, trying to fab a roadster out of a coupe. Do you have doors?

The trunk lid you may never find and maybe can make one from a modern roof skin.

Windshield posts can be adapted from another brand of roadster or touring car, but skill is envolved to make the mounts in the cowl. then a custom windshield frame would be fabricated to fit.

If you have never done a big rehab, I would keep thinking about what you realistically can do with your tools and skill level..

both doors are there and seem in good shape. thought i may have to make a trunk lid myself...if i couldn't find one.

also found this one for 4,000...might be worth the extra money

Buy the one for 4k!! Its in alot better shape and not sitting out in the elements. You'll save a boat load in the end. Looks almost to nice to cut up though.
