My Model A frame has the chassis number stamped in it--looks like it was done by by hand. *3314U15* or *x3314U15* Does anyone know how many number and letters were in the Model A chassis number? 7 or 8? The numbers have a 5sided star in front and behind them. Dutch
They were all done by hand and should be of the format : *A1111111* They will be stamped on top of the frame on the driver's side right under the cowl about 3/4" from the inside of the rail. Those are strange numbers. Maybe someone will have a better answer, but something is not groovin'.
Your frame has been re-stamped by someone to match some paperwork I bet. Lift up the body and you will find it about 10 inches or so behind the firewall on the top of the frame. That will be the correct number and should start with an 'A', followed by the 7 numbers and a star at either side. Might be real hard to see if it's been rusting pretty good.
It could read *A3314015* I couldn't tell what that first letter was-thought it might be a X but now it probley is an A. The U could be the bottom of a 0. So would that be right A3314015?
And see here for the ID: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=262831 May, 1930... If that number is correct.
Cool! 1930 Ford... Now check the numbers to make sure they're clear and get your paperwork started! Cheers!
