  8. GREAT! I just got my 2 Porters in the mail...2 1/2" in 2 1/2" out, and had NO idea what they'd sound like. What size are yours, and what size/model engine? Mine are going on the engine in my Avitar, and I HOPE they sound as good as yours. The Video is GREAT! You should send a copy to Porter...they'd love it...

I had a pair of Smithys on my old '39 W/283, it sucked.......you couldnt even hear it run. That video was great, I'm definitely considering a set of Porters for my car.

Porters were the hot tip back when I was a teenager in the 50's when it was flatheads, "pennies in the manifold" ( you used copper pennies, flattened out a little larger in OD, then file to fit and block the heat riser passages for a harder rap), and Porters.
I would be using them on my current build, an A/V8 roadster w/SBC if I had an undercar exhaust, cause I love their sound. But I'm using Sanderson roadster type headers and I'm gonna use spiral turbo baflles inside the 3.5" side pipes. I finally found a U tube video of a set on a Vette, and I like the sound.

Sound great! I finally ordered a pair for my Pontiac a week ago, but they are on backorder. I can't wait to get them. :D

  21. Pulled the body off the Roadster last week, so that I could install the exhaust system the easy way. I had been wondering if I made the right decision, buying 40" X 2 1/2" Porters to put on my blown 291 DeSoto. Well, it WAS the right decision. Fired it up with the complete exhaust mocked up, and it's THE sound I was looking for! And the blower DOES whine...I can hear it now :D...
