Glad to be here. I've got a '48 Chevrolet Fleetmaster that my dad bought on July 3rd, 1980. I was 9 years old then. My dad died 5 years ago and I got the '48 from my mom. The car is stock except for split exhaust with duals. I repainted the rims and made chrome bullet center caps. I installed chrome bullet lug nuts. The car was repainted once in 1968, and is Live Oak Green. It currently has 44,000 orig miles and has a CLEAN body with no rust ever. The car was made in Flint, Michigan in the actual GM plant that I work in now that makes Chevrolet Silverado heavy duties (GMT-900's). It is cool to know that my dad's old '48 rolled off of the line that I work on every night.
Welcome to the HAMB from one GM shop rat to another (Lansing Delta Township). Be sure to check out the GMB social group. Don't ask about the name, long story.
Very cool story dude. My Dad taught me to drive on country roads in a '48 Chevy. It was hard to get the hang of the foot on the starter, heal on the gas, left foot pushing in the clutch. All of this was in the late 60's. Welcome from O-HI-O The Rock
