Here's my 40 pkp disguised as a 1936 Ford Super Deluxe pickup. Front clip, dash, and rear taillights from a 36 Ford car. 350/350 drive train in a Fatman chassis. Now working to put 36 car rear bumpers on it. Hope to get around to putting glass in the doors before York! Chopped 40 pkp in background is mine as well and runs SBF and C4. Enjoy.

So tell us. What did it take to graft that front end on?

I'll have to select and upload a few pics from the build. Don't want to overwhelm with details but want to share most of what happened. Basically I bolted the 36 front end on the chassis and then slid the cab forward until the side of the stock 36 hood hit the body line on the cowl. Then I recontoured the side of the cowl to accomodate the 36 hood side panels and also extended the side of the cowl downward to fill the gap to the fenders. The top of the hood had to be recontoured to fit the stock pkp cowl. I'll work on some pics and upload them later. Thanks for the kind words on the project and I appreciate the interest. Al

    That kicks ass.

I love mixing and matching ford body parts.

That is so cool I saw someone do that with a early 40's ford truck and car it turned out great. Nice collection you got going there.

Very slick. Also, the chop on the 40 looks great from what I can see...nicest one I recall seeing, as far as proportions

Neat job! If I had a chance to do something like that, I'd try a 35 passenger grille! I'm surprise we don't see more of this kind of mod... Gary

Here are some early pics of the conversion to a 36 front end.
Hopefully you can see enough to figure out how it was done.
Time, patience, and alot of LUCK are essential.
Thanks again for the feedback. Al

The 1940 bed was new from Mack Hils but sat for a long time. Rear fenders are 40 pkp but I modified 36 coupe taillight stands to fit and revised filler tube to use the stock 36 filler location via the taillight stand.

  25. Very cool! Henry should have done that.

Mounted tailgate over weekend and got pipes finished today to bumper. Also drove home in rain for first time. Windshield leaks some but dang back window nearly gave me a bath! Will add pics when weather clears. Working Al

DSC01201.jpg DSC01202.jpg DSC01203.jpg These pics show the "trunk" storage area I'm building in the rear of the truck bed. Might get someone else to thinking. Al
