My pops gave me a model T, early inheritance of sorts. Much different than my '49 Chevy truck. Enlisted the help of the gang at Bubba's Hot Rod Shop in Speedway. Jim (GMC BUBBA) has a few of these and knows them inside and out. Special thanks to tierod (Bill) for the pictures - he is a wiz at that stuff. Thanks also to dyman, Grumpy and the rest of the gang for the help. Arrival... It hasn't run in 20 years, sitting in a shed in Yuma, Arizona. Switched to 12 volt, alternator, distributor, fresh gas, new carb. Bubba has a ton of cool stuff... and like I said, tierod is a wiz with the camera rest of the pics here... http://picasaweb.google.com/tierodbill/Meyer
Got everything wired up, gas in the tank, pulled the trigger and it fired up with little effort. Bubba is the master when it comes to ignition and carbs, would have taken me another 20 years to figure it all out. Jim drove first, too damn many pedals, shifters, handles, levers, buttons and knobs Not sure where we even went, was staring at the pedals. Got it home and tonight did some rewiring, got it running again, took the wife in it for a brief lap around the block. Successfully got it in and out of the garage without incident Thanks again to Bubba and the crew
Awesome! I just posted this thread today, you may get a kick outta it.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=471659
AND...Scott is getting his kids interested too.. Look at the smile on Nick's face.. How cool is that...
Love this picture! There is something special about old technology - even a young children realize it! At some point even old things become "cool" again.
Hey Its me MEYER!! DOC, your long lost brother!!!! Where he hells my T? This is great, congrats man. wish I had parents like that too. Doc.
Pops has been retired for a year now... been sitting around watching too much Fox News and afraid of getting hammered with inheritance taxes so he's passing things down now. Coins, guns, cars (got a '63 Chevy stepside too ) My kids love the stuff. 9 year old pictures likes to wrench. The 15 year old doesn't but likes driving them. I am looking for a clean Impala/Galaxie for him now. Drove the T to work this morning, all the controls are a trip!
