Cast iron toppers are repros. All the original ones were made of cast aluminum.

    For $10, you did good.

  23. Not a topper, but it was made in 1956 by the WV Prison Industries using the same "blanks" as the regular license plates. They were called "booster plates" and were sold by civic organizations (Lions, Civitan, Rotary, etc) as fund raisers. Since WV doesn't require a front plate, I run this on the front of the '34.

Here are two AA toppers i have collected. I know there are lots of these about, but the combined population of Kelly and White Deer Townships, where I live, is under 9000 people, making membership in this now defunct AAA club sort of unusual. The one on the Plate, with it's original mounting bracket is porcelain, the other one is stamped steel.

Her is one that my high school sold when needing new band uniforms. All the local merchants offered them for sale to the public. This one was my parents business, my Dads car business and my Mom's cafe. A friend found it at his uncles property when doing an estate sale for him and he sent it to me. Whats chances of that? ~sololobo~ btt
