I’m building a t-bucket and didn’t plan on using the bed but now that it’s a roller I don’t know. What do you guys think about the bed, yes or no?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

It's the only storage on a tiny car, and you can make them lockable, and it's traditional. So, yes.

Use the bed unless you planning on fabricating something cool looking for fuel tank cover.

A turtle deck!!... That almost looks like one of my 1/8th scale model projects I'm working on.

  11. You have a great low-slung look. While it's up to your own personal preference, a T-Bucket with no bed can look great. Case in point, Dan Holck's built in the 70s and still going. (While the quickchange looks great, on a budget build there are things you can do too).

  12. I would put that bed on it, like was said there is no room in these things. I was even photoshoping a bed on mine.

Although a nice spun aluminum tank looks cool, i vote for a bed. Not one of those little 20" things but something a little longer. My T-Bucket has a 12 gallon spun aluminum tank with no bed. Plans are for a longer bed (28" to 30"), tucking a fuel cell down low in the bed, and build a locking cover for a little storage.

Personally, I like the bed. Maybe make a smaller tank?

I'd keep the box on it. "Back in the Day" I shortened and put on a Model A box for a buddies '23 roadster... looked real cool; but then I like T roadster pickups.

sounds like everyone likes the bed and i think it looks more complete with the bed but looks cool with no bed also. so im going to make a bolt on mount for the bed and a smaller gas tank and a bolt on mount for the bigger tank and no bed so i will be able to switch it out as i please. ill post pics when done.

  19. I guess I am stuck in the 60's but I think a T-bucket looks very cool with a turtle deck hanging out back. Very cool and different but seldom seen....

Here's a couple pics of a bucket with a double turtle deck out back, the lower one is piecut and fastened to the upper. Gives some storage for road necessities, battery and gas tank(13.5 gallon).

Dumb question... at what point does a bucket without a tail become a modified? Gary

I agree, a wild unusual looking fuel tank would add some interest to the rear.

  24. I was looking at that on mine as well and really didn't see how to get more than two bolts per side to hold the frame work on. I 'll stay tuned to see what you come up with, of course our frames are a bit different.

I used the bed on mine as it gave me somewhere to put the battery, tank and brake servo.

I hate front license plates on rods. I realize the laws are different everywhere, but here, if you have a truck, you can run a 18000 GVW plate if you pay a little more for it. They only give you one plate and you can put it in the front or rear of the truck. Just thinking, I'd run the bed.
