To paint or not to paint the 52 is the question????

    I pulled my car out of the garage and washed it for the first time in 30 yrs!!! now I am debating on getting the car painted or if I should just leave it alone for the summer and drive it!!! what do you think paint it or leave it???? 2nd side 52.jpeg

    Being your from Waukegan (that's Illinois, right?) I'd drive it for the summer and plan on doing the paint this winter. It's going to have to be down for 6 months of snow anyway, may as well paint it then. And that gives you the summer to track down some nicer chrome for it and fix anything else it might need.

    If it's the first time in 30 years the car has been out I wouldn't waist my time painting it. Enjoy the car. Drive it for 30 years and then paint it.:D

    Leave it the way it is.
    Looks great. You can never get it to look this way again if you paint it.

    Drive it. I had one about like that in '59, painted it and regretted it, forget but I think it must have cost me $20 in rattle-can. At today's proces, save the $300 for beer.:D

    The car has killer patina. I wouldnt paint it. I feel the cars are much more enjoyable without fresh paint. You just dont worry about em near as much.

    Drive it for the summer, a no brainer back there! I mean dont you want to enjoy your car in summer weather for what 3 months? :p

    Drive it and work the bugs out of it, plenty of time in off season to revamp.

    Drive it and enjoy it. When winter comes if you still want to Paint it do it then.

    thanks guys and you are right it would be down if i were to paint it.. and i still havent driven it still waiting on the drive shaft. i guess it would be dumb if i painted it because in the future sometime i plan on nosing the hood and chopping it and doin different tail lights so as for now iam just gonna drive it!!!!!
