Just came across a couple barn finds. I'm pretty sure this is a ladawri. Has a rocket motor and I believe it may be on a henry J frame. Owner doesn't have a title for it but i'm guessing 57'. Also in this is a picture of a Franklin. Not quite sure of the year.
Those car don't deserve to be in there, they are too nice. You should rescue them! I've never seen a car like the blue either. Looks like it has a back-glass for a windshield.
Yep, its a cad.. 2 door vert. they won't come off of that. there's a 64 cad 2 door convert and a 67 2 door hardtop. Also a 60 2door lincoln convert and an early studabaker. I have to dig those pics up. I scored the ladawri and either the 64 convert or the 60 lincoln convert. The family is trying to decide what they want to let go. Sentimental value.
All of the cars were pretty much covered for years. In addition the original owner had put cedar shavings or something of the like to keep the mice from getting to the interiors, which.. worked great. The interiors are flawless.
Here are the rest of the cars.. kinda crappy pics but best i could do with my phone. The owner wants to sell all but the 58 caddy. She's having someone come to appraise them.. a 'friend' of the family. God only knows where this will go.
The blue one has really great lines. Good for you. More pics when you get it please! That Cad vert is also VERY nice. Too bad my pockets only carry lint these days!
i have a laDawri conquest and i would love to talk to the guy any more pictures of the car thanks tom
It's a Chevy pickup windshield turned upside down. Killer score! I'd be on the LaDawri like a fat kid on a rolling doughnut.
Bringing home the laDawri tomorrow after work. I'll take some more pics once i get it back to my place and cleaned up. She's still waiting on title work for the lincoln and caddies.
Definitely a LaDawri Daytona. I've had a few of them. there was a removable hardtop you could get with them too.
We looked for the hard top for it but it hasn't surfaced. It still may be buried somewhere in the barn or rafters under years of dust. Got my fingers crossed that we'll get her fired up later on this afternoon. Plan was to pick it up after work but my focus at work as diminished an i'm leaving at noon.
Brought the LaDawri home last night. Too late to clean it up but here are some pics. Hopefully this weekend i'll see if she fires. I did find a registration card from PA that indicates it was registered as a 1960. That may have been the year it was finally assembled.
Man...that thing looks like it is going to clean up great. Very cool - I have never seen one of them.
I don't have any plans for the car as of yet other than getting it cleaned up and hopefully running. It's not really my style but it's a very cool car. I'm working on my 50 merc 2 door right now so I might be inclined to sell it at some point to replenish the Merc fund.
From what I understand the bumpers are from a vette. Gonna pick up a battery for it on the way home from work. Was going to work on it tonight but apparently the wife has other plans. I may have to actually go with her as I may have forgotten to tell her about my newest acquisition. Is that wrong? Never ask for permission, always for forgiveness.
