30 ford serial number

Can anybody tell me where to find the serial number on a 30 ford coupe
We found the number on the motor and we were told there should be a number on the top of the frame right across from the one on the motor but no number

 

Should be right under the cowl on the drivers side. You may need to take a wire brush to it to see it. Usually with the As the number was the same as the engine number, just stamped in 2 places.

 

The number may also be found further back along the frame near the door post.

OR you may not find it at all.

 

No matter what, you have to lift the body off the frame to see the numbers. And that is if they have survived the years and where originally stamped deaply enough into the frame.
