    Probably could get that same look by wiping a car that already has a dusting of surface rust down with WD-40.

    could have used some of the gun bluing agents out there...depending on how you apply/remove them they can actually cause a black looking color like that, that will rust.

    I'll have to dig through my pics, but I believe that is darkend red oxide. He was at the Pileup the past 2 years.
     
  9. Looks like used motor oil rub, I think that's what Peckerhead28 here on the board did with his.
    How 'bout peckerhead, want to chime in??
