I learned to drive in a B61 with a triplex. What are you going to run for a trany?

    It's got an Allison automatic.
I actually had a B61 with a triplex for a short time in the early seventies.
Ever since then I've always wanted to get another B model Mack.

I really like the Seagrave Hauler. But, which engine would you choose. Would you go with a diesel, or an origional v12? I would have to go with the V12.

    jim_ss409,

I love the Phantom 409, and the Mack Tow Rig. The cut down pumper body is awesome. :D:D:D

Do you have any pictures of the engine and interior of the 1955 Chevy Gasser? I have a model kit for a 1955 Chevy Gasser at home and would like to build this car.

The front wheels and tires are the same as you'd find on any big truck and the rear tires are called "Super Singles"
One Super Single replaces a pair of drive tires. They're lighter, ride a little better and increase fuel mileage but of course if you get a flat you can't just keep going like you can with regular dual tires.
The rims and tires on the Mack are identical to the ones on the big Volvo in this picture.
You can also see in this picture that the Mack is a lot smaller than a modern highway truck.

For this year we're going to use the Mack to pull this 40' race trailer.

We'd like to have a trailer with a vintage look, sort of like the ones in the pictures. Right now we're thinking that the best bet might be to get a bigger car hauler then modify it to get a more streamlined, vintage look.

    Thanks for all the replies!

We're almost done. We went for a test drive today and the truck's running great!
We haven't got the floor in the box or the 5th wheel mounted yet but we backed it under the trailer and it looks like everything's going to fit with room to spare.

We got some lettering and pinstriping done by our buddy Paul Lapp. He also lettered the 55 Chevy a few years ago.
