I will be in Lafayette, LA from May 4th through the 9th for a business trip. Does anyone know of any good things to do or see while in the area? Any car shows, museums, cruise nights, restuarants, bars, etc. that you can recommend is greatly appreciated.
EAT!!! The best food in the WORLD is there!! Find out what festival is going on in that area and have a few!! Boiled crawfish is in season now! Lucky YOU!! Go to Comeaux's near the UL campus and get boudin and REAL cracklin!! Go to Prejean's restaurant, south on I-49. The Boiling Point near the airport is good for crawfish/shrimp/crab. The Petroleum Club downtown is the fancy spot to eat... Dave
You are missing the Breaux Bridger Crawfish Festival by a couple of days. April 30-May2. http://www.bbcrawfest.com/ As everyone said, EAT! Get the T-Rex here: http://deanospizza.com/ I moved away quite a bit ago, but I used to love eating at Gator Cove, http://www.gatorcove.com/ I would check out Hub City Diner if you're into 50's cool: http://www.hubcitydiner.com/locations Olde Tyme Grocery‎218 West Saint Mary Boulevard, Lafayette, LA 70506-4636(337) 235-8165‎ There's food everywhere... You can't go wrong. Stay away from fast food, chili's, etc... Just not worth it when there. Not sure what else I did when I lived there other than wrench in my own garage, LOL.
