I picked up some lasalle transmission bits yesterday and this lower shaft was in the box of parts, so im trying to id it, the over all length is closely roughly 20" and the bearing snap ring groove to bearing snap ring groove is 13.875 roughly, and the rear ward pilot dia into the rear cover is .8125, and the shaft diameter where the bearing rides is roughly 1.125 and the over all dia of the one bearing thats on it is 2.835 and the number on the bearing is 6306j30. any help would be great thanks jeff
Six (6) splines mean that's a shaft from what's known as a "V8" Q C center section for use in a passenger car or 1/2 ton p'up rear rather than the "Championship" rear which uses 3/4-1 ton gears and has 10 splines. As to the maker, or brand, unless it's stamped on the shaft, it's unlikely you could ascertain this just strictly from measurements without having all those measurements from all the others, if then. Most likely these parts interchange pretty much across the board, as the makers were all copying Hallibrand and Frankland anyhow! Dave
