  3. I have a 34 Ford truck I started on 15-16 years ago. Got it to a roller stage and it just keeps getting pushed back. Have finished many cars since. It is finally "on deck" like it should be.

Got a 69 Camaro that my dad and I tore down in 1982. Worked on it a litttle in 1984 and again in 2004 and it has been sitting ever since. Gonna get to it one day. I was a young kid when we tore it down. I don't remember much other than messing a few things up trying to get them off.

    A '64 Falcon that I have had since I was 11 or so (I'm now 46!)
Pulled it apart when I was about 15 or 16 after the 170 blew up.
Engine bay is painted, 5 stud disc brake conversion is done, 5 stud 8" rear end is in. Another 30 years and it should be done!:D

56 Chev 210 tudor. I took it off the road in 1986, built a 427, four-speed, installed a 57 nine inch rear, moved the springs to the inside and installed disc brakes on the front. I started to do the body work while I was doing body work for a living. I even ordered a brand new vinyl and TWEED interior for it.Last year I took the big-block out and built a fresh 350 for it. I havent touched it in a year again, too busy with other projects I guess...thats only 26 years ago...wow

About a month shy of 38 years for my '32 5w. In the meantime I've had a dozen or more that have obtained driver status, enjoyed for a long time and sold. The problem with this one is it's NEVER going to leave (been my favorite car since I was 10-11 years old) and there just doesn't seem to be a big enough time frame to get started and see it through to completition. Really lame............I know:(

Checked the paperwork, I bought my model A in Jul 1970. Had it on the road in the fall of 72. By the fall of 73 life got in the way. It got pushed back in the corner. There it hid for 33 years. June of 07 saw it back on the road. Didn't like the way it handled, so winter of 09/10 back apart for chassis mods. As of now still apart. Honey-do's on the property seemed to have taken a higher priority.

  18. A buddy of mine started working on his '40 Woody in 1973. This pic was taken last September and is the first time the car has made it out of the garage. Obviously, there's still some work to be done before it's "roadworthy".

  21. Bought my 34 Victoria project from friend of mine in 1992. Moved it to my place in '95. I pulled it out from the back of the shop this winter, and started tearing into it. Hopefully, it won't be 18 more years!

I've got a couple of more "short timers" that I've bee messing with for 10 years or so.

Don't be too hard on me though, I've built a few since I've started on these. They are just the "Nope, not for sale, I'm gonna fix 'em someday." ones.

Took me 10 years to build my wife's Model A. But I have excusses. I retired from the Army and got a second job working with a bunch of high-speed guys. I went to school nights and week-ends to get a batchlors and a masters degree in business to keep up. Worked out OK, I worked another 23 yrs and got a second retirement. But she missed 10 years of driving time. Very understanding woman.

Seems like 2 answers here- storage vs. project.

Bought my '59 in '89, started tearing it apart in '95, about 60% done. Not happy.

I don't feel nearly as bad admitting to 10 years for my '29 roadster pickup! I do have my '48 Plymouth that I have driven for the last 16 years as regular transpo though. I also seem to always be building everybody else's stuff, too. Non the less, some thing does get done every couple of months though.
