Just wondering what kinda contraption you have built for your alternator.
I am having problems getting mine mounted. I am running an early 283 with a C4B intake that has the filler tube on front.

No accessory bolt holes and headers. I bought a really nice piece today, Alan Grove bracket, but it interferes with the right hand outlet on the Mustang radiator I am using, so back to the Parts store it goes.

I'd like it to stay somewhat simple since this car has a late 60's vibe.

If I mount it on the opposite side it interferes with the oil fill tube. I may be able to shorten the tube. Anyhoo, how about some pics of your setup?

    Thanks
    Root

  2. Any room to mount it down below on the drivers side?

  3. I don't have a link, but Walden Speed has some pretty slick brackets for Alts/ Gens. Go on their site and search Jitney Jake (Jacobs). Might be what you're looking for?

  4. this was actually going to be my first suggestion/ question.

  5. If he has the room but doesn't wany one of those saddle type mounts that EVERYONE makes, it wouldn't be hard to use the same spacing and cut some swing arm that looks less modern.

  6. Speedway has those lower drivers side mounts, and others.

The Walden setup looks pretty sweet.

I just don't want one of those modern looking spread out setups.

I'll see if I can get some better pics of the motor tomorrow.

What's wrong with the old-fashion header brackets? They mount like the old rams-horn manifolds did. Cheap and available in damn near every speed shop or parts store selling 'performance' items.

Be brave, mount it under the car and driven by the driveshaft :)

I have seen a lot of those "Chinese" brackets broken. I'm thinking they used old melted down Yugos to make em.

check out socal speed shop. they have one that mounts it on the pass side . using there design i copied it and made mine. I'm running a 350 with a short water pump and a mustang radiator.the alter. mounts above the manifold , which has a boss for the early oil tube and clears it. if you want i can post a pic. its a 32 ford and if i want i can run a full hood and sides , it'll clear no problem.

I ordered one from Alan Grove that put it over the pass. side valve cover, like so:

Granted, it's in my 50 Chevy..but if you order it online, you can get a bracket to put anything anywhere!

    Hi,
I'll second Alan Grove, they provide a variety of mounts for every situation. Gives you some options.

It probably wouldn't cost all that much to have a radiator shop move the outlet over to the passenger side of the radiator and then you could run just about any standard low mount that is available to match your water pump and not have to have the Mickey Mouse lower hose setup. Two problems solved.

I made my own bracket, I hated having it sticking outside the grill shell. I would've had to modify it if I had a breather tube in front.
