Here is my latest PENCIL commissioned piece. The client wanted a tanker truck w/his logo on it and this is what I have. He really enjoyed it, hope you do also. Thanks for looking, Nate

Here is my helmet for http://www.vintagetorquefest.com/. I hope by now you all know what that is. John Wells and Jimmy Flinstone Studio are providing the helmets and let the artist do whatever they want on it. It is going to be awesome!! There have already been some on the F.A.S. Well since the show is going to help his daughter Hannah,http://Helpinghannahsheart.org I thought I'd do something special for John since he's such a great guy!
The whole helmet is done in ink and pencil. It was the most challenging thing I've drawn on!! After I painted it I started on the pencil and soon learned that when I tried to erase a mistake it smudged. So no mistakes. The dragster is supposed to look like my skratchboard. The inside is all the sponsors for the show. I'll quit babbling, Hope you enjoy. Nate Grice

As usual the customer stuff isn't really HAMB friendly, but here's the latest one I finished:

And then I've resolved to start working on doing some HAMB friendly stuff for myself and challenge myself to improve my art. To that end I've started sketching on rods I would build if I had $$$. First a Slant 6-powered track roadster:

It'll take a while before I can get this one into color... customer stuff always comes before personal stuff...

Wow! Some nice stuff already this week, starting from the very first post! Great photo, cool logo, fantastic sketches... You could take up a page just talking about how good the posts are this week.

Then again, sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. Working on this piece made me feel like the bug. Originally started for the Easter weekend show (thus the colors), I'm still not totally happy with it. It is what it is...

First of all, simply put, your painting kicks ass. What is your idea of a quick painting? How large a painting are we talking here? Don't get $$$ in your eyes, I'm no rich man, but do you do commissions? Great work.

The problem with naming names and complimenting work here is that you invariably leave out some excellent stuff along the way. But a couple of real standouts jumped out at me this week already. AND: I like the loose paint style and bad attitude of yours, TODDJ: Each one of your concepts deserves its own canvas. ZOMBIE: So freakin' cool. DouG: Stunning work and great clock design - like Architectural Digest meets Rod & Kulture. STOOPID PHRED: Really dig your typography, hip modern style and conceptual approach you take toward all your work. "Barricuda", the concept wagon and that "K" are kool. Interesting what you say about your own work ..." I feel I could do better"...While the rest of us are knocked out about your talent, like any true artist you see the flaws and opportunities for improvement. I think that pretty much sums up what many of us think about our own work.
