Obviously he had to find out what the majority thought so he could do the opposite!:D
Looks good Groucho, definitely links the car to a certain period more than the 5 spokes would - can't wait to see it out on the Boulevard!

    I'll vote for the slots,
I'm still looking for a pair of skinny fronts 15 5 1/2 big ford pattern. they were on my deuce in 1967 with pie crust cheaters in the rear also. want to go back to those soon. For the same reason, they're not seen around anymore.I want diff and cool looking stuff.

  6. have you tried a mixed set Groucho? spokes out back/ slots up front?

  7. Yes, I did. I didn't really like it though. I like mix matched wheels, but these didn't do it for me. Someone mentioned painting the spokes gold on the Americans, and I like that idea. Like a Dow 7 I think it's called.

I'm not going to read all 8 pages, but I prefer the Astros because they are different in 2010. As much as I love the vintage Americans, and my Dad still has his original set that he bought 40 years ago, I think the Astros fit the look of the coupe as it sits.

I like pic #2. I'm tired of American 5 spokes. When the car first came out, it had chrome steelies with cheaters.

    Definately the spokes............absolutely.

  15. I just want it to look like it should. Like an old hot rod, which is what it is. But, I wanted to give it my own little touches. Like lowering the rear 1 1/2", changing the wheels, and I also plan on losing the Model T steering wheel in favor of a black 4 hole Superior. Just little shit to make it my own, and not someone elses. I also am considering losing the front bumper, and possibly adding a Moon tank......

Groucho, I like the 5 spoke Americans like all the rest. But you hit the nail on the head with the Astros. It is spot on what you were looking for, but you already knew that. As far as being Jewish in an Italian body, that is not all that un-common. My wife is 100% Paisan, but swear she is Jewish as well, even though it is not so..
