I went to an auction yesterday and came home with a bunch of cool intake manifolds. Most are for flatheads and chevy six cylinders, one of the flathead intakes says "Columbia" on it and I've never seen anything like it. It is 2x2 and looks real neat. I'll post pictures when I get home, but does anyone have an idea what this thing is or what it is worth?

  3. If you would like to sell it, I'd like to have it. I have a columbia with controls, and no intake vacum.

Never heard of it before, but it looks like it's for a V8-60.

IMHO, this manifold has nothing to do with the Columbia Two-Speed Axle. They originally drew their vacuum through a 2bbl adapter plate that went between the carburetor and the manifold, but just about any source will do. I put a T in the wiper supply hose to power mine.

    ;) It's a V8-60! not enough mounting holes for 221 or larger!

They were cast in Portland Oregon in the late 40's.The same company used different names on them also, AI just don't remember off hand what they were.Oh now I do, Shanifelt & maybe others. You don't see them that often any more.

  9. I happen to have a V8 60, with no intake or heads. I also so happen to have a Columbia rear without and intake riser/vacum. Think it would be a neat combo...

You are fortunate to have both, and I agree it would be a neat, if accidental, combination:)
